  1. (Part 1)
Lirem was an only child, and for a while at least it seemed okay. It wasn't until he'd been in high school for a year or two and running into a constant cycle of girl problems that he really wished he had a sibling, someone his age who'd lived with him and knew him well enough to comfort him. He was frowning at his mirror one day, thinking about this wish once again, when his reflection suddenly stepped right out of the mirror.

Lirem jumped back and nearly fell over on his bed. The double said, "Whoa, didn't mean to startle you."
"You just stepped out my mirror! And you look just like me! How is that NOT going to startle me?"
He scratched his head. "Hm. Good point. Anyway, I came here because I can fulfill your wish."
    "Um..what wish?"
"I can be your brother, silly! I can be the best brother ever! But I want something in return."
"And what is that you want?"
"Well, I sort of..didn't have a shape before entering your mirror. So I want your shape. I'll give you a different one that should be just as good, or even better!"
"Um...er, this is kind of sudden. Can I think about it?"
"I'll give you two minutes. There are other people who would be perfectly willing to give up their forms for a wish."

Lirem took the time he'd been given to think. He really wasn't sure what was going on, but whatever supernatural being had just stepped out of his mirror sure did seem to have the power to become his sibling. And somehow, maybe because he looked exactly like him, Lirem felt strongly inclined to trust the guy at his word.

    "Time's up! What's your answer?"
"I'll...I'll do it," said Lirem, after a moment's hesitation.
"Great! We shake hands to seal the deal," said his reflection, holding out his hands.

Lirem slowly reached out his hand, taking hold of his twin's, and finally shook it. Then there was a pulse of some kind of energy going from the twin's hand through Lirem's, and it felt kind of tingly as it ran up Lirem's arm.

  2. (Part 2)
The twin let go of Lirem's hand, and he could clearly see that it was smaller than before, the skin a bit paler and softer and the fingers slimmer. His arm was getting smaller as well, and a bit shorter. Then his other arm started shrinking starting at the shoulder, and he felt a bit of the tingling on his face. It became a bit smaller and rounder, and his black hair suddenly tumbled down his back and to either side of his face, reaching down to the bottom of his stomach in the back.

Lirem's stomach shrank in then, but his shirt became tighter rather than looser as it started to conform more to Lirem's shape. His hips started pushing out, and then his legs became slimmer as they were pushed apart at the top.

Lirem could feel something pulling itself against the back of his chest and just barely touching the front; his underwear, too, started feeling much tighter and pulling up off of his legs. His jeans tightened, too, and soon Lirem's groin had flattened, signaling a rather significant change. Her chest then blossomed out into the new bra, filling it completely as two rather prominent breasts.

Emily looked herself over and even looked into the mirror, which had returned to its normal state, and then looked over at her new brother, smiling. She was actually kind of pretty and didn't feel any worse, so it seemed that he'd been honest in his dealing. He was now Lirem, her fraternal twin brother, and it seemed natural to think of him as that and remember her life that way. Of course, none of her memories had been messed with, but there were new ones to make her shifted life easier to adapt to. Later Emily found that their parents and her friends seemed to have the new set of memories only, and she was pretty sure that was for the best.

Of course, Emily's love life wasn't much better than Lirem's--it was just boy troubles instead of girl troubles. The difference was that she always had a bro to come home to, a shoulder to cry on. And that was wonderful.
